Marrakech – Kasbah of Telouet – Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou 

Your Morocco desert tour to the Sahara starts from Marrakech. Your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. Then, departure by 4×4 toward Ouarzazate, crossing the pass of Tizi Tichka (2260 m) in the mountains of the High Atlas. You enjoy beautiful landscapes and panoramic views on the mountains and small villages. 

You will first take the direction to the Kasbah of Telouet. Built during the XVIII and XIX century, the Kasbah is also called “Palace of the Glaoui”. It is located in the Berber village of Telouet, in the Haut-Atlas. The village is 1870 m above sea level and 136 km from Marrakech. Lunch on site then you continue your itinerary toward Aït Ben Haddou. The Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou is a site inscribed on the World Heritage List of the UNESCO.

After a visit of the Kasbah and Ksar with a local guide, you spend the first night in a typical riad. 

Sahara tour Marrakech : the desert of Mhamid

For the 2nd day of your 4×4 Sahara tour Marrakech Erg Chigaga, you take the direction the village of Mhamid. The village is located at the gates of the Moroccan desert and last oasis of the Draa Valley.

You pass by Ouarzazate and the Drâa Valley. You go through the Anti Atlas montains to Agdz. Then, you continue your itinerary and enjoy landscapes on the palm grove and the mountains. Also, you see small villages.   

The program continues by Zagora and then,  the Col de Tizin Tinififft and stop in Tamgroute to visit its Koranic library and the pottery workshops. You will continue to the village of Mhamid and our desert camp.

Enjoy camel ride, dinner around a campfire and overnight stay in a Sahara desert camp.

Sahara tour from M’hamid to Erg Chigaga – live a desert adventure!

After breakfast, you enjoy a 4×4 Morocco desert tour to the great dunes of Erg Chigaga.

You go on the track in the desert and take a break for lunch in a Oasis. After lunch, you arrive in Erg Chigaga. Then a camel ride for sunset is planned in the biggest Moroccan dunes! The landscapes are really impressive!

The great dunes of Erg Chigaga are called “the sea of sand”.

In the evening, enjoy traditional music around the campfire and overnight in a Erg Chigaga desert camp. Adopt the nomadic lifestyle for a day!

You can also do sandboarding or quad biking in the dunes! 

Erg Chigaga – Iriqui – Tazenakht – Taroudant

On the program of the 4th day of this Sahara tour Marrakech Erg Chigaga :

You leave on the track in the morning and you go from Erg Chigaga until the lake Iriqui which is most of the year dried out. The lake is situated in the desert. After the visit to the lake of Iriqui, your 4×4 Morocco tour continues to Foum Zguid. Here, you find the road and take the direction to Tazenakht. This Berber town known for its carpet-making cooperatives is located between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas.

Enjoy lunch in Tazenakht after the discovery of the carpet manufacturing cooperatives and then departure for the city of Taroudant.

Taroudant is located about 250 km southeast of Marrakech. You will see the Wadi (river) that passes throughout the city. You will spend the night in this city.

From Taroudant back to Marrakech

After breakfast, this 4×4 Sahara tour makes you return to Marrakech.

The route between Taroudant and Marrakech passes by the High Atlas mountains. You will have time to enjoy beautiful views.
