Day 1
Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora – M’hamid desert camp
If during your holidays in Ouarzazate, you have two days for an original activity, go for a weekend in the desert!
On the first day of your weekend Sahara Morocco from Ouarzazate, a pick up from Ouarzazate is provided. Then you will cross by 4×4 the Draa Valley and visit the palm grove down to Agdz and Zagora. Several stops are planned on the road to enjoy your Ouarzazate Sahara trip. The Drâa Valley leads to the M’hamid desert. The landscapes of the Anti-Atlas are really nice! The typical villages are also very charming.
At noon, you will take a break at the kasbah of Tamnougalt for tea or lunch.
Once the visit of the Kashab is over, you continue to Zagora. Then, possibility to visit the pottery workshop in Tamgroute before to join the village of M’hamid.
M’hamid El Ghizlane is the last village before the Sahara desert. You will spend your Sahara weekend there, in a traditional nomadic camp.
At the end of the day, admire the sunset over the surrounding dunes of the camp. You will then enjoy Sahrawi music and dinner at the camp. Night in a nomadic tent.
Day 2
Camel tour Morocco desert – picnic in the Sahara – back to Ouarzazate
The second day of your Sahara weekend Morocco is devoted to a camel riding trip in the desert.
After breakfast, you leave the desert camp with camels. You explore the desert on the back of the camel.
Lunch is planned in the Sahara. You will make a stop for a picnic under the tamarisk. You will enjoy the landscapes and a moment of relaxing. After that, on the back of the camels, you continue your excursion in the Sahara to return to our Mhamid desert camp.
In the afternoon, you will take the road to go back to Ouarzazate.
Arrival in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon.
If you have the possibility to extend your stay in the desert for a day, we recommend you make an excursion in 4X4 Erg Chigaga where you will discover the largest dunes of the Moroccan Sahara.
