Marrakech to Erg Chigaga tour – Kasbah of Telouet – Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou 

You take the road in 4X4 in the morning for this Marrakech to Erg Chigaga tour 3 days. Your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel.

After crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which rises to 2,260 meters above sea level in the High Atlas, you will head for the Kasbah of Telouet. The kasbah, built in the XVIII and XIX centuries is known to have been the last home of Pasha Glaoui. The kasbah is about 140 km from Marrakech. After completing the visit of the Kasbah of Telouet, go to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. You continue your trip through the Atlas mountains and small villages. 

Aït Ben Haddou is a site with typical southern Moroccan architecture, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is a ksar, made of earthen constructions, surrounded by walls. Lunch is planned in Aït Ben Haddou.

Your Marrakech Sahara trip continues then towards Ouarzazate. After a break in the city, you will head into the beautiful Drâa Valley to the village of Agdz.

From Agdz to the Erg Chigaga great dunes

On the second day of this Marrakech to Erg Chigaga tour, after breakfast in Agdz, departure in the direction to Zagora.

You continue this trip in the Draa Valley. Enjoy panoramic views on the palm grove, the mountains and typical villages! Lunch is planned in the city of Zagora. After this break, you continue your way to Mhamid, village at the gateway to the desert. M’hamid El Ghizlane is the last oasis in the Draa Valley.

Once arrived at Mhamid, you take the direction of the great dunes of Erg Chigaga by 4X4. You will spend about 2 hours on the track in the Sahara before arriving in Erg Chigaga.

Arrival in the afternoon, you enjoy camel ride in the beautiful dunes of Erg Chigaga. Admire the sunset, then taste dinner around a campfire. You spend the overnight in a Morocco desert camp.

Erg Chigaga great dunes – lake Iriqui – Tazenakht – Marrakech

After breakfast, you take the road for this last day of your Marrakech to Erg Chigaga desert tour 3 days.

You will leave Erg Chigaga and its big dunes to go through Lake Iriqui which is dry today. The lake is located in the national park of Iriqui where the fauna and flora are preserved.

After this visit, you pass on the track until Foum Zguid, then head for Tazenakht and its carpet cooperatives! You will enjoy lunch in the city of Tazenakht.

Your Morocco desert tour continues through the High Atlas Mountains to arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day.
